Radiopaedia hits the ABC News

The ABC has published an article on the popular radiology education site Radiopaedia, and its founder, Royal Melbourne Hospital radiologist Dr Frank Gaillard. The article contains a number of interesting radiological images, submitted by Radiopaedia contributors from around the world. Entitled "Amazing radiology images: How sharing them is changing medicine", the thrust of the article is how the 'open source' paradigm of freely shared material is leading to increasing benefits compared to the old order of expensive medical textbooks. The benefit to the developing world is highlighted.

According to Managing Editor Dr Andrew Dixon,  Radiopaedia currently has over 2 million users and almost 18,000 cases available online.

Dr Gaillard will be bringing the Radiopaedia experience to the ANZSNR Diagnostic Neuroadiology refresher course in March 2015.
